Pebbles recognises the importance of healthy eating for the growth, development, and wellbeing of young children and is committed to promoting and supporting healthy food and drink choices for all of the children in our care. Our policy on nutrition will affirm our position on the provision of healthy food and drinks while children are in our care and the promotion and education of healthy choices for optimum nutrition.

We will be supplying all breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and snacks throughout the day.  We will also be providing two types of formula for children.  If the brands that we are using doesn’t suit your child’s diet, we are more than happy for you to bring along your own and we can keep it at the centre for you.

Pebbles respects and supports mothers’ wishes to continue to breastfeed, as we understand that returning to work and can be a common reason for discontinuing breastfeeding. We are able to provide a welcoming environment for mothers to continue to breastfeed or express breastmilk.  A private room for breastfeeding forms part of our beautiful building where our mum’s will be able to come any time of the day to use.

We believe in providing a positive eating environment that reflects dietary requirements, cultural and family values, and promotes lifelong learning for children.

After lots of research and discussions we decided to outsource the meals to a company called Kids Gourmet Foods.

Kids Gourmet Food have been creating nutritious and delicious homestyle meals for children since 2002.  They offer a great solution working with nutritionists, dieticians and national advisory groups to ensure the highest nutritional standards are met in their daily menus.  They understand that the early years in a child’s life are instrumental in developing positive, long-term eating habits, and that exposing young children to a healthy, diverse diet not only gives them the best start in life, it helps secure their future health, development and wellbeing as they grow up.

By using Kids Gourmet Foods will also give our Educators much more valuable time with the children away from the kitchen which is just the way we like it.
