Pebbles recognises the importance of healthy eating for the growth, development, and wellbeing of young children and is committed to promoting and supporting healthy food and drink choices for all of the children in our care. Our policy on nutrition affirms our position on the provision of healthy food and drinks while children are in our care and the promotion and education of healthy choices for optimum nutrition.

We supply all breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and snacks throughout the day.

Pebbles respects and supports mothers’ wishes to continue breastfeeding, and we understand that returning to work can be a common reason for discontinuing. We provide a welcoming, supportive environment for mothers to breastfeed or express breastmilk. A private breastfeeding room is available as part of our beautiful building, which mums are welcome to use at any time throughout the day.

At Pebbles, we proudly participate in the Munch & Move initiative, a NSW Health program that supports the healthy development of children from birth to five years. Munch & Move promotes six key healthy lifestyle messages, including encouraging healthy eating, physical activity, and reducing small screen time. Our educators incorporate these messages into everyday routines and play-based learning experiences, helping children develop positive habits from an early age. Through engaging activities, discussions, and role modelling, we empower children to make healthy choices that support their overall wellbeing—setting them up for a lifetime of good health.

We believe in providing a positive eating environment that reflects dietary requirements, cultural and family values, and promotes lifelong learning for children.

All of our meals are prepared onsite by our on-site chef, following careful research and planning to ensure each menu is nutritionally balanced and child-friendly. Our team works closely with nutrition guidelines and consults relevant health resources to offer a variety of homestyle meals that support healthy development and promote a love of good food.

One of our priorities is to cater for children with food intolerances, allergies, and cultural preferences. During enrolment, families are asked to share any allergies or special dietary requirements. Please note that our services are all nut free.

We place the utmost importance on accommodating any special requirements. Our team is highly aware of the importance of providing a safe and enjoyable eating experience for all children, with strict procedures in place to avoid cross-contamination. Meals for children with specific dietary needs are carefully planned and prepared, with a full list of ingredients available for every meal upon request. For added reassurance, we do not use nuts or eggs in our food preparation area.

Separate menu options are also provided for vegetarian and cultural dietary needs. In all cases, we aim to ensure every child enjoys a positive, inclusive, and sociable mealtime experience.

Children enjoy a rotational menu that introduces them to a range of seasonal, fresh ingredients, new tastes and food from around the world. From nutritious baby purees to wholesome meals, we offer alternatives to suit every child in our care.
